These is because these areas are having hot and humid climate means evaporation can takes place and also to protect the crops from hot air currents and frosts. Water is also essential for germination of crop plants.

These areas also have hot and humid climates and the soil may also dry quickly. Roots of crop plants cannot elongate in dry soil. So, irrigation is necessary in these areas.
