➡️It is believed that during the rule of Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh, Jaipur was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales during his tour of India in 1876.

➡️This was because pink was said to denote the colour of hospitality.

➡️A law was later passed directing all buildings in the area to be painted the same colour.
