because we farm on land. Therefore, the land should be fertile so we need to take care of it. If there's no fertile land or it's polluted, farming will be destroyed - results into shortage of food - famine is created...Also we need land to build houses

During the photosynthesis process they take in carbon dioxide through stomatal pores, thereby helps in maintaining the level of carbon dioxide in the air.
