The link reaction occurs in the mitochondrial matrix and converts pyruvate into the two carbon molecule acetyl CoA by removing cabon di oxide and hydrogen through the process of decarboxylation .Carbondioxide and hydrogen are removed from two pyruvate molecules,producing two acetyl group
