why is lysosomes called sucidal bags of the cell

Lysosomes contains digestive enzymes. If a cell gets damage lysosomes burst and digest the cell.This is the reason why lysosomes are called suicidal bags.

When cells get damgaed due to physical or chemical reasons the extremely digestive enzymes of lysosomes are released by bursting of lysosomes which in tuen digest the own cell
