money is called a medium of exchange because money is the medium we use to get goods, so likeee instead of exchanging actual things, like the barter system where you give one thing for another thing like suppose giving your friend two pencils for a pen,  we use money to get things, so instead of exchanging a real object we use money as the medium of exchange, basically buying stuff
