Na+ has a +ve charge . Due to this , it tends to bind electrons closer to it as the 1 +ve charge of proton is distributed to every 10 remaining electron. Now each electron is experiencing an increase in electrostatic force, the ratio being equivalent to 0.1 for each electron.

In Cl- ion, there is an increase if 1 -ve charge. Due to this , there is increased electron-electron repulsion due to like -ve charges. As a result, electrons tend to move away. Hence , it has a larger size than Cl atom.
