nitrogen is very essential for plants because it is major component of chlorophyll the compound by which plants use sunlight energy to produce sugar from water and carbon dioxide.it is also major component of acidic.

farmers who cultivate pulse crops like green gram ,peas etc don't need nitrogen fertilizer during cultivation because some amount of nitrogen is also present in the soil that helps the plants grow
