The nitrogen is less reactive at room temperature because



* The atoms of nitrogen is very small


* And the length of bond is also quite small as a result Bond dessociation energy is quite high. that's why Nitrogen is less reactive at room temperature.


These factors plays an important role in reactivity series.



Most important it's depend on the size of atoms of given elements.



If the size of given elements of atom is small that's lead to high dissociation energy that's why the given atoms of element is less reactive.



If the size of atoms of given elements is large that's leads to less Bond dissociation energy therefore the given elements is more reactive.
