heya......

The nitrogen fixing bacteria reside in the root nodules of the leguminous plants. They convert atmospheric nitrogen into soluble nitrogenous compounds. Thesenitrogenous compounds make the soil fertile. Hence a legume crop does not require nitrogenous fertilisers.

hey

The leguminous plants have root nodules in which the nitrogen-fixing bacteria called Rhizobium dwells that fixes up the atmospheric nitrogen and convert it into usable form. So, these plants do not need nitrogenous fertilizers.
