why is nucleus called as the brain of the cell?? why is mitochondria called as powerhous of the cell??

nucleus controls all the cellular activities of the cell. It plays an important role in the transfer of hereditary characters from parents to offspring. It plays vital role in cell division.
Mitochondria is known as power house of the cell because they are site for the synthesis storage and transport of ATP.
