Why is osmotic pressure of 1 m solution of nacl approximately double than that of 1 m sugar solution?

osmotic pressure is a colligative property and depends on the number of solute particles in solution. NaCl dissociates into two ions while Sugar being covalent does not. So, number of particles in 1M NaCl will be twice as much as in 1M of Sugar.
