Answer:

Potassium dichromate in acid medium oxidizes ferrous ions present in Mohr's salt into ferric ions. In this titration, potassium ferricyanide is used as an external indicator which gives a blue colour due to the formation of ferro ferricyanide.

Answer:

potassium ferrocyanide is used as an external indicator because if you add potassium ferrocyanide directly into ferrous iron solution, the entire solution will change into blue precipitate and the amount of ferrous iron will decrease.there will be little or no ferrous iron remaining in the solution to be oxidized by potassium dichromare.so,there will be no end point.
