why is radiation the only type of heat transfer by which the sun's energy can move to the earth?​

Radiation happens when heat moves as energy waves, called infrared waves, directly from its source to something else. This is how the heat from the Sun gets to Earth. In fact, all hot things radiate heat to cooler things. When the heat waves hits the cooler thing, they make the molecules of the cooler object speed up.

Heat can be transferred from one object to another by three ways and they are ==>>

(1) Conduction

(2) convection

(3) Radiation

Conduction and convection need a medium to transfer the heat from one point to another as they can transfer the heat from one object to another only by the atoms of the objects, but radiation doesn't need any medium to transfer heat...

and as we all know that there is only vacuum in the outer space between sun and earth, there isn't any medium.... so conduction and convection can't work their as they need medium to work whereas radiation transfers heat without need of any medium so only radiation can transfer the heat from sun to earth.
