Ramadan, the month of Islam, is considered holy because Shetan or Satan is locked as Muslims fast from morning (fajr) to evening (maghrib) avoiding every sin thus presenting a model of true Islamic state and fasting is obligatory for every Muslim thus if in a Muslim country every Muslims fasts the entire country will be purely holy i.e; without any sin. That is why Ramadan is considered such important and holy month. Another reason is that the prizes of fasting are huge in afterlife. One can have all his sins erased if Allah agrees.
