Why is resistance more in series combination and less in parallel combination of resistors?

Explanation:

Because in Series current has single path for its flow Hence current through each resistor ,So the potential difference across any resistor is directly proportional to its resistance

And In parallel the current is inversely proportional to its resistance so its resistance is less then in series.

Thank you

Answer:

This relationship results in a total resistance that is less than the smallest of the individual resistances. When resistors are connected in parallel, more current flows from the source than would flow for any of them individually, so the total resistance is lower.
