why is respiration consider an endothermic reaction? explain
Answers
Error in the question :- Respiration is exothermic process and not endothermic.
Answer :-
Respiration is considered as an exothermic process, because energy is released in the process of respiration. We know that, during exothermic processes, heat is evolved and not used up. Since, during respiration, break down of food generates energy, we say that respiration is an exothermic process.
We can check it as when we exhale out air, we find it's warmer than the air we inhaled, hence, we conclude that energy is released during respiration. So respiration is exothermic process.
⇒ The process is the opposite of exothermic process. In these process, energy is used up to perform a reaction.Energy is not released, but used up.
Endothermic can be seen in decomposition reactions.
Exothermic reaction can be seen in combination reactions.
