✍️ Respiration refers to the movement of air, into and out of the lungs.

✍️ Oxygen is taken in and carbon dioxide gas is released in this process.

✍️ It is the process of production of energy by the breaking down of glucose inside the cells in the presence of oxygen.

✍️ It is essential because we require energy to perform every function of our body.

✍️Respiration is important because it provides energy to living organisms to perform all functions to maintain life.

✍️ The process of respiration takes place in the cells. The energy that is released, is stored in mitochondria in the form ATP (adinosine triphosphate).

✍️ Mitochondria releases this stored energy when the need arises.

Respiration is important because it produces energy that is essential for the normal functioning of the body. Respiration provides cells with oxygen and expels toxic carbon dioxide.

Organisms respire in order to obtain oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide. Oxygen drives cellular metabolism, the process in which glucose from food is converted to usable energy resources in the form of adenosine triphosphate , (ATP).
