Why is rolling friction less than sliding friction??

Rolling friction is a kind of static friction this because the object rolls over the surface it doesnt slide hence the sliding friction wont come into action and normally this static friction is less than sliding friction (because  all the vehicles usually move slowly for safety) but the maximum value of this static friction is always greater than sliding friction .
But this maximum frictional force will come into action only when the tendency to slip increases which can be achieved by increasing the speed of the rolling object and thus in this case the rolling friction is greater than sliding friction

But usually rolling friction is less than sliding friction
