why is salt iodized?why do people near coastal areas are not affected with goitre ?

Iodised salt (also spelled iodized salt) is tablesalt mixed with a minute amount of varioussalts of the element iodine. The ingestion ofiodine prevents iodine deficiency. they are not affected because the salt stored in the soil will be washed by the rain and they will be collected in coastal areas. the coastal areas soil also has salt because they near the sea

the salt is iodized with a minute amounts of iodine to be resistent to the iodine deficieny in the body. goitre causes by the deficiency of iodine in the body.this is not afected to them becuz they will be getting iodien from the air thy breath
