Why is series arrangement not used for domestic circuits?

1.In series combination, each appliance cannot be controlled with separate switches.
2.Also a damage in one appliance will obstruct the working of other appliance by breaking the circuit.
3.Each appliance can't be run on same voltage.
4. Each appliance can't draw enough current for themselves.
