Shylock is called an incarnation of devil in The Merchant of Venice because he had put a condition to Antonio that if he is unable to return him the sum of three thousand ducats within three months, he will take a pound of flesh from the chest of Antonio. He decided this bond to take revenge from Antonio as he has often insulted in Rialto, stock exchange of various merchants.
