As sunlight reaches our atmosphere, molecules in the air scatter the bluer light but let the red light pass through. Scientists call this Rayleigh scattering. When the Sun is high in the sky, it appears its true colour: white. At sunrise and sunset, we see a much redder sun.

the sun is at a greatet distance from us the sun rays travel from sun towards us during this much of the light gets scattered and the and only the blue light is remained
while when the sun is at the top of our head the sun scatters white light as it does not have to travel much distance when compared to the first case
