why is sodium kept immersed in kerosene oil? ​

Bcz sodium reacts with oxygen, so it has to be kept away from air.

Because sodium is a highly reactive metal .....

When sodium kept in moisture or in the presence of oxygen .....they will become sodium hydroxide(reaction with oxygen) ......this reaction is highly exothermic........then the sodium will catch fire .....that is why sodium is kept in kerosence oil
