why is sodium kept immersed in kerosene oil


shivamsinghal25: because it is so violent and exothermic that the evolved hydrogen gas immediately catch fire to prevent the accidental fire it is kept in kerosene oil

bcoz it's highly reactive....if kept in water it reacts with it readily and a blast takes place.......it's very explosive
