Why is speed of ultrasonic sound in water same as that of ordinary sound?
Speed(or velocity) of sound is directly proportional to the frequency as we can see in the formula v = f * λ. We know that ultrasonic waves have higher frequency that normal sound. Then according to the formula, velocity of ultrasonic waves should be higher than ordinary sound, then why is not so?
