Why is sulphur acid a reducing agent

Sulfuric acid can't be the reducing agent (to my knowledge) because the reducing agent is the atom, NOT molecule, that loses electrons (giving them to another atom, therefore reducing that other atom). ... But if the reaction can oxidize it, then it acts as a reducing agent.
