Why is sulphuric acid used in esterification rather than hcl?

Because it is more useful and good then hcl .

Because Sulphuric acid(H2SO4) is a strong dehydrating agent as compare to Hydrochloric acid(HCl).
Thus, it is used in estrification reaction.
