Boiling is a bulk phenomenon in which the vapour pressure=Atmospheric pressure whereas evaporation is a surface phenomenon in which the molecules gain kinetic energy from the surroundings and the mother molecules(molecules beneath them) to escape into the atmosphere that's why we're able to feel the coolness in case of evaporation.

  • The process of changing liquid into gas both below and at the boiling temperature is called Evaporation. Evaporation gain heat from the surrounding as a result there is a loss of heat in the surrounding the cooling process start and the surface become cool. This is the reason why evaporation produce cooling.

  • When we give heat to the liquid it boils as there is no loss of heat from the surrounding that's why it's doesn't produce cooling.
