why is the air pressure high in polar areas in both the hemisphere

Polar winds begin near to both north pole and south pole.

This polar winds are kind of frigid air ( due to the cool temperature in that region )

this frigid air in winter sinks towards the ground creating a high pressure area at the poles

these wind occure in both the hemisphere.
