why is the blood in glomerulus under high pressure?

The afferent artery is wider than efferent artery so when the blood moves from afferent artery to efferent artery a high pressure is developed.

The blood in the glomerulus in under high pressure become the blood comes into the glomerulus from the renal artery. And as we know arteys have higher pressure of blood because they come from the heart.
