why is the blood pressure more in artries than veins???

arteries.because The arteries carry pure blood to the different tissues and organs of the body so it is propelled by the heart with greater velocity so that way pure blood is readily available. The veins carry the impure blood in the body so they are carried with less velocity by the blood capillaries .
