cell is called as the basic structure and functional unit of evry living organism because when the cells combine and form grp they are called as tissue and when tissue combine with each other it forms organ and different types of organs make a organ system and when the organ system start working they form an organism...that's why cell is called as the basic structure and functional unit because without cell all these process are not possible
