The presence of water vapour in the atmosphere is called humidity. During day time heat over the sea causes evaporation of the water in higher amount.

Humid air is heavy in the weight and hence it remains over the surface of the sea. While the land is warmer during day time and air is less in density.

The movement of air occurs from high density regions towards low density regions. This means that, the water vapour above the sea moves towards coastal area increasing the humidity of the air in the region.

\impliesCities near the sea are much more humid, but even they have different humidity. This current is cold and cold water evaporates harder thus creating less humidity in the air. On the other hand, Miami and the east coast is facing a current coming from the south where the water is hotter and evaporates easier.

Most of the vapor that is in the air evaporated from the surface of the oceans. Also, because warm air can hold more moisture than cool air, locations with warm climates, such as those near the equator, generally have higher humidity than locations with cooler climates, such as those near the poles.
