Why is the climate on mountains cooler, though it's much nearer to the Sun as compared to other hot places on the sea level?

REASON:
When carries most air over the land. When air reaches over the mountain, it rises as the mountains are in the way. We often can see snow on top of the mountains all year round coz the temperature atop the mountains is lower than at the bottom. Higher the place is above the sea level, lower is the temperature. As air rises, the pressure decreases. It is the lower pressure at higher altitudes that causes the temperature to be colder on top of the mountain than at sea level. At a high altitude, there’s less pressure, so the molecules are rubbing together less and stay at a cool temperature. The sun doesn’t heat the air, it heats the earth, by sending waves down to Earth.

Intensoldado: Thanks man
PB182: Girl, actually
Intensoldado: Oh, actually it's just an expression of English language. Still, I apologise if you're hurt...I am sorry...
PB182: It’s not an expression, a term commonly used. And cmon, what’s the need to apologise? ‘‘Twas just a correction. Who gets hurt on such petty matters? Absolutely okay. No need to say sorry.
Intensoldado: thanks for the clarification...
PB182: it’s all hakuna-matata.
Intensoldado: I am sorry but I didn't understand...
PB182: Hakuna matata is the Rudyard Kipling phrase for ‘Everything is perfect; no need to feel sorry or tensed: a problem-free philosophy’.

With that I meant that everything is okay; no need to be sorry just chill
Intensoldado: Wow...which grade are you in??
PB182: 8th and you?
