why is the concrete floor made in a small slabs rather than a single block

because if they will made without slabs then in summer because of hot temperature they will expand and if they do not get the place for expansion it cracks

cement floor is not lead as one block it is because it expands during summer as there will not be any space of expansion therefore it will crack instead floor is laid in small blocks leaving a very small space
