Why is the conversion of ethnol to ethenoic acid to oxidation reaction?

Conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid is an oxidation reaction as oxidising agents such as KMnO4 oxidises it (add oxygen).

because during conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid wwe do it in the presence of


potassium permagnet and potassium dichromate which add o2

in the reaction

and here k2mno4 and k2cr2o3 work as an oxidi oxidizing agent

so we can say it is an oxidation reaction
