As Kanyakumari is nearer to the equator than Kashmir is so Kanyakumari receives direct overhead sunlight compared to that of Kashmir so the duration of sunshine in Kanyakumari is more than that of Kashmir so in Kanyakumari the duration of day matches about the same as the night. That's why the duration of day and night is hardly felt in Kanyakumari but not so in Kashmir.

because kanyakumari is just 8° away from equator so there is hardly any difference between day and night but Kashmir is 37°away from equator so the time difference is 3 hours
