why is the difference in the duration of day and night very little in Kanyakumari Why is it not in Northern part of country give specific reason for your answer

Kanyakumari is just 8* away from the Equator As equator receives the direct sun rays there would not be hardly any difference between day n night. whereas North India is about 35* away from the equator. so the difference between the duration of day n night is about 5 hrs

The difference between the duration of day and night hardly felt bin Kanyakumari but not so in northern part of the country because the sun always move between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. Thus the duration of days and nights remains almost constant throughout the year. But when the sun moves towards Tropic of cancer the days start to become longer in northern parts of the country and nights start to shrink. As the sun moves towards Tropic of Capricorn the days start to shrink and nights become longer. Thus the difference between the duration of days and nights are mostly observed in northern parts of the country during different seasons but not so in Kanyakumari.
