Why is the earh roughly round? What would have happened if it was flat like a cube?

not dam sure about my ans but can try ……
Earth is assumed to be spherical in shape where as it is actually eliptical in shape , because generally all the celestial bodies present in our solar system are sphere ,and we know that in a sphere gravity is concentrated at center and distributed equally at its all surfaces.
if the earth would be cubic or any other shape then the gravity at its surface would variate and there would more chances of distrucrions.
