The biggest reason why the farmers in India are poor is that, we and the society. Because when we buy grains, vegetables, fruits or any other eatble things from the market we often regret the hard work of the farmers. We also forget to respect them. Another reason is that the shopkeepers who are buying grains or any eatable things from the farmer pay them less money.
