A bar magnet consist of two equal and opposite magnetic pole separated by a small distance. ... The shortest distance between two poles is called effective length and is less than itsgeometric length. Since themagnetic poles are not exactly at the ends, the magnetic length is slightly less than the geometricallength.

Heyaa Friend !

Geometrical Length of bar magnet is L , then speration between two poles is nearly equal to 6/7 L .

Magnetic length : distance between two poles

Geometrical length of bar magnet : actual or original length of bar magnet.

Geometrical length is always greater than magnetic length. Magnetic length approximately 0.83 times to 0.85 times of Geometric length

Hope it Helpz
