Why is the Formula for Carbon Dioxide CO2 even though the valency of Carbon is 4 and Valency of O2 is 2?

Valency of carbon is +4

Valency of oxygen is -2

To balance valencies

1 carbon bonds with 2 oxygen as it has +4 valency and oxygen has -2 valency ...

So 2 oxygen have -4 valency

So in co2 +4 and -4 are cancelled by each other...

And compound become neutral by this farmula ...

so this is the farmula of carbondioxide
