Why is the frog called hypocrite? In the frog and the nightingale?

The frog was very greedy, just to maintain his supremacy in the bog, he used nightingale, he make her sing for long time without even thinking about her. He represents a hypocrite, at the concluding part of the poem.. Where the nightingale was killed, he stated that the nightingale should have known that her song must be her own, whereas the frog was the one who changed her song, he was the reason of poor nightingales death..
