Why is the intermolecular force of attraction maximum in solid?

It mainly depends on the bonding. we mostly consider 1)Ionic bond and 2)covalent bond, in both of them the ionic bond is strong which is mostly result of electrostatic force of attraction by the ions charge or coulomb's force.

among all ionic bond is the strongest the result solids( most solids are ionic compounds) which is having strong inter molecular force.
