Why is the loamy soil suitable for most plants ?​

Loamy soil has equal amount of clayey soil (finest particles) and sandy soil (largest particles). Hence, the water retention capacity is adequate for the plants. This also means that loamy soil would contain more humus than clayey and sandy soil (The dark brown coloured layer consisting of rotting dead material in the soil) which makes it more fertile.
