Why is the negative end of a bulb, ammeter or a voltmeter connected to the negative end of the battery? Shouldn't the negative terminal of a battery be connected to the positive terminal of a bulb/ammeter/voltmeter so that a potential difference is maintained?

Answer:

connecting a negative end of a bulb ammeter and voltmeter to the positive End will make the current to flow only till that particular object

and not in the full circuit hence negative part is connected to the negative part.
