Why is the pancreas considered both an endocrine and an exocrine gland?

Pancreas is a glanduar organ consisting of 2 parts:

1. Endocrine part; it's also known as "Islets of Langerhans" having the alpha cells (they secret glucagone hormones which increases the sugar level of the blood) and beta cells (they secret insulin hormones which decreases the sugar level of the blood).

2. Exocrine part; it's that part of the pancreas where the pancreatic juice is secreted containing gastric enzymes for carbohydrates, proteins and lipids Lydia.
