Why is the pituitary gland considered as master gland? Explain with examples.​

The hypothalamus which controls the pituitary by sending messages is situated immediately above the pituitary gland . The putrid land land pituitary gland is often called the master gland because it controls several other hormone gland in your body , including the thyroid and adrenals the ovaries and testicles .

It is the main endocrine gland.It is called master gland because it produces hormones that control other glands and many body functions including growth.The hormones of the pituitary glands send signals to other endocrine glands to stimulate their own hormone production.for example,the anterior pituitary lobs will release adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)to stimulate cortisol production in the adrenal glands when you are stressed.
