Why is the position of hydrogen justified in modern periodic table

hydrogen has a justified position in modern periodic table because Hydrogen is the first element in the periodic table. It has the electronic configuration 1s1. ... So it can be placed above the alkali metals in group I of the periodic table

Position of hydrogen is not justified as it shows similarities with alkali metals like Na, K etc in  having 1 electron in outermost shell and also it shows similarities with halogen  in terms of electronegativity. So it position could not be justified
